NEW PROJECT AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

OVERVIEW 

London Skills & Development Network (LSDN) is supporting the  Department for Energy Security and Net Zero’s Home Decarbonisation Skills Training. The competition is part of the government’s flagship renewables scheme helping the UK grow the economy, achieve net zero, protect families and businesses from volatile global gas prices, and strengthen energy security.

The aim of the project is to contribute to the delivery and the levels of retrofit needed to meet the UK government’s Net Zero target.

LSDN’s qualified staff team will provide education and training in retrofit and energy efficiency skills, increasing the number of competent and qualified workers and help to scale up the workforce to deliver on the government’s decarbonisation strategy and its ambition to meet its Net Zero target by 2050.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

The training delivered and qualifications achieved will enable individuals to contribute to domestic retrofits and to help meet the demands of the government’s retrofit schemes including SHDF, HUG, GBIS and ECO.

A career in retrofit is highly sought after and hugely rewarding, in addition to good pay and conditions, workers in this industry are contributing to a safer, cleaner, and healthier planet. 

While jobs are varied, careers are mostly in the building and manufacturing industries and include a wide variety of roles: electricians, heating engineers; energy assessors; construction workers; building inspectors; surveyors; and many more.

The courses on offer at LSDN are:

  • ETCAL Level 2 Award in Understanding Domestic Retrofit
    • Retrofit Awareness course including introduction to PAS 2035 standards 
  • ABBE Level 3 Award in Energy Efficiency for Older and Traditional Buildings
    • Retrofit installation and insulation measures - PAS 2035 standard - Pathways B and C
  • ABBE Level 3 Certificate for Retrofit Assessors
    • Retrofit Assessor - PAS 2035 standard
  • ABBE Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Assessment
    • Retrofit Coordinator - PAS 2035 standard
