The purpose of Careers in Action Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency is to provide a high-quality employer-responsive service which fills gaps for apprenticeship demand in non-traditional job roles while helping to increase participation from disadvantaged groups. Our agency removes employer barriers and administrative burdens while addressing the policy priority of enabling employers with shorter-term work opportunities to engage and benefit from the Apprenticeship programme.

High-quality placement experiences

Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency ensures placements are suitable & apprentices are on the right apprenticeship standard by undertaking rigorous pre-application briefings & two-stage interview/selection process with Apprentices. Working closely with training providers to establish candidate needs/aspirations/prior experience to assess employer & apprentice needs. On-the-job training requirements with host employers & training providers will be coordinated to provide clear guidance regarding requirements to host employers

Health & Safety

Our internal H&S systems are externally audited and validated by Citations twice a year and all our staff undertake mandatory H&S training with frequent updates and refreshers. Most of our staff are fully trained 1st Aiders and all our managers are IOSH trained ensuring staff have an excellent understanding of H&S legislation, procedures & requirements.

We will provide in-depth H&S briefing and induction for all apprentices, including clear information on their H&S rights and responsibilities. All apprentices will be issued a Safe Learner guide and will complete mandatory H&S e-learning. Apprentices will be issued with any required PPE &/or specialist equipment & will have appropriate support in raising/dealing with any H&S-related concern

Careers in Action has effective systems in place to ensure the safeguarding of all apprentices, in particular young apprentices & vulnerable adults. We hold Leaders in Safeguarding kitemark & all staff have safeguarding L2/L3 accreditation

Staff experience and expertise

All staff have experience of supporting apprentices & have excellent understanding of apprenticeship processes & regulatory requirements. Project staff hold Advice & Guidance qualifications at L3 or above.
